I discovered it after reading reviews of other vintage jems that I own. It's probably horribly watered down compared to its vintage self but I don't mind having never smelt the vintage.I was intrigued by the lady of the night mythology behind this scent and had to add it to my collection. If I want a longer lasting root beer experience I will reach for my signature Youth Dew anyway.Jean Carles was well known for his wonderful creations made of unusual materials. Before creating Tabu, he was instructed to make a fragrance for a whore (‘un parfum de puta’). Its luscious oriental floral composition starts with fresh citrus and spicy notes.
This fragrance is very unisex in my opinion, on my skin it smells warm, spicy and smoky. This is SO much better to me now than when I first tried it about a year ago.I went to the fragrance shops this weekend to test Tabu to see if this is really unisex...As a disclaimer, this is not a review about vintage. Especially if you like Ted Lapidus Pour Homme (the original) or Kouros (the white bottle). The spices in the heart accentuate the beauty of exuberant flowers: jasmine, narcissus, rose and ylang-ylang.Warm oriental base includes amber, resins, civet and precious woods – sandal and patchouli.
